Is There A Better Way?
A client company importing a chemical product into Canada wanted to know if certain claims about the chemical composition of the product were accurate. Ursa Technologies specified chemical tests which were then carried out by an independent accredited testing laboratory. The results of these tests disproved key claims being made. Ursa Technologies then devised a new, simpler, less expensive chemical process for producing a product that would meet the needs of the client, and could be produced in house by the client. The product is now made in Canada and is exported worldwide.
Will My Application Work?
Clients sought the assistance of Ursa Technologies to complete development of an industrial process they had previously been working on with another company. Ursa Technologies carried out rigorous experimentation which indicated that, while the process worked, its proposed area of application was not viable. Ursa Technologies identified a reaction which compromised the process's economic benefit and increased the waste it produced. A literature study confirmed the reaction was unavoidable. Ursa Technologies then identified alternate more useful areas of application.
Is This Idea New?
Clients were interested in investing in a "new" invention. A literature and patent search revealed that similar inventions had been disclosed and patented many years previous to the present work. The clients were not aware of these patents.
Is Something Too Good To Be True?
A client asked Ursa Technologies to review an invention which claimed to boost the efficiency of a large scale industrial process. Ursa Technologies researched the invention and advised the customer as to why the invention would not work as claimed. Ursa Technologies proposed an alternate, scientifically valid explanation for the test data offered in support of the invention.
